Most patients do not realize that when it comes to their screening and diagnostic imaging services, they have a choice in where those procedures will take place. Often times the patient will just go to the imaging facility their primary healthcare provider suggests. Or in some cases, that decision is left up to the nurse or scheduling department within the office. Possibly ignoring the request of you, the patient.

At LRA we would like you to know that you do have a choice, and the final say in where you prefer to have your imaging procedures take place. And we hope you would choose LRA. Here are the top 10 reasons our patients say they choose LRA.

Lumberton Radiological Associates, P.A. is  our area's most comprehensive provider of outpatient diagnostic imaging procedures. Our services are designed for the comfort and convenience of the patient while providing fast, accurate, and reliable test results to referring physicians and healthcare providers.  Serving Southeastern North Carolina since 1970, LRA is locally owned and managed by physicians and is dedicated to providing our community with the best possible medical care. LRA has two locations. Our Main Outpatient Center is located at 209 W. 27th Street, and our Wellness Imaging Center (WIC) is located right next door at 105 W. 27th Street.

LRA maintains the highest standards in its equipment and facilities. The facilities are accredited by the American College of Radiology and the mammography services are also accredited by the Food and Drug Administration through the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).

The physicians of LRA are all board certified radiologists. They are medical doctors with special training in Radiology. They also staff the Medical Imaging Department at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. The technologists that perform the diagnostic tests are all registered Radiology Technologists with special training in their area of specialty. They have years of experience and are sensitive to patient's needs. 

Our medical staff receives continuing medical education to stay up-to-date with the most current medical information. The business staff works to ensure that patients who visit LRA have a pleasant and comfortable experience. The patients that visit LRA range from very young children to senior citizens. Our physicians and technologists work closely with them to explain the procedures and make them relaxed and comfortable.

Patients are referred to LRA by their physician and will need to have written orders with them at the time of their appointment. Patients may schedule their own screening mammogram, but will need to have a physician for us to send the report to. General x-ray services are available without an appointment Monday through Friday from 8:00a.m. to 5:30p.m.

We provide patients with detailed information to explain their test and to discuss any preparations. These are provided through their referring physician and are also available in our facilities. The completed medical report is forwarded to the referring physician who will discuss the results with the patient. Diagnostic testing provides physicians with the tools they need to treat their patients. Lumberton Radiological Associates is dedicated to provide the best possible care for our patients and referring physicians.
